TwinCities.com - Seagate Technology has won a $525 million
arbitration award in Minnesota against rival hard disk drive maker
Western Digital after alleging that confidential information and trade
secrets were misappropriated when Western Digital hired a former Twin
Cities Seagate employee.
Western Digital, based in Irvine, Calif., said Monday that it would fight the judgment.
"We do not believe there is any basis in law or in fact for the
damage award of the arbitrator," Western Digital CEO John Coyne said in a
statement. "We believe the company acted properly at all times, and we
