Brocade’s move to 16Gbps Fibre Channel has given the company a significant advantage over competitor Cisco. Since its debut in May 2011, the Brocade 16 Gbps Fibre Channel protocol has seen rapid enterprise adoption, while Cisco’s Fibre Channel over Ethernet (FCoE) products has remained a niche technology in core infrastructures.
